Live Now!

Dreaming about all the things you want to do is all well and good. Don’t get me wrong, I believe in dreaming. Eventually, though, we need to prioritize so we can put our energy into making them happen, otherwise you’re just spinning your wheels.

Most people view their dreams as future realities waiting for time to pass, instead of living them Right Now. It’s important to remember that the present is a result of the past, yet the future will be the result of your behavior Now!

Throughout the day, frequently ask yourself: “Is this activity moving me forward to achieve my most important lifetime goals?”
Begin to frame the future based on the NOW behavior.

The 1% Club – Goal Setting

Are you in the 1% club? Do you spend time making your dreams a reality, or do you sit back and watch others fulfill their dreams?

In a recent study from a professor at Virginia Tech he found that people who wrote their goals (vision) earned nine times as much as those who didn’t! His research went on to reveal that when asked, “What are your goals for life” – he found:

  • 80% said they didn’t know
  • 16% said they have goals but they’ve never written them down
  • Only 4% said they’ve written the goals but never gone back to look at the
  • 1% said they wrote the goals and they review them on a weekly basis

He went on to say…”Do you know who those 1% are?” MILLIONAIRES!

Success is not accidental. You must take action. Begin by writing your goals (vision) down. As Dr. King said…

Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.

What is Your Life Vision?

What do you desire in life? What do you really desire? This is an important question to ponder. In order to truly manifest all that you desire in life, you must first decide what you want. You must become clear on your vision of what your greatest life would look like.

Most people don’t know what they want. Either they don’t take the time to get clear about what they truly desire, or they focus on the things they don’t want in life (for example , I don’t want debt). By focusing on the things you don’t want you are experiencing negative thoughts and therefore produce negative results.

One way of uncovering what you desire in life is to make a list of all the things you don’t want. After you create the list, go through each and every statement and turn it into a positive statement of what you do want. For instance, if you say, “I have trouble paying my bills each month”. Say this instead “Money comes easily and freely to me and bills are paid with ease”. Think big! Be UNrealistic. What would you desire if anything was possible? Don’t worry about exactly how what you want will develop in your life. The “how” is unimportant; your job is to figure out the “what”. Remember, the only limits we have in our lives are the limits we impose on ourselves.

Doing this exercise will force you to focus on the positive and also gives you a clear vision of what you truly desire. Post it on your mirror, on your fridge and carry it around with you. Meditate on those things, see yourself doing those things and eventually, you will become your “Greatest Desire”.

Obstacles

Obstacles: They’re there, all the time. There’s just no getting around it. There will be moments when you will have a little pity party and, hopefully, those are just moments. And then it’s moving on: ‘How are we going to get through this? And let’s look at it as an opportunity.’ Orison Sweet Marden said this, “Most of our obstacles would melt away if, instead of cowering before them, we should make up our minds to walk boldly through them.”

Every time I have had a serious challenge or set back, looking back, it was an opportunity for great growth that would not have happened had I not had that challenge. So, I welcome challenges today. I really do. Consider it pure joy, that’s how I feel about challenges. They give us character. They help us refine us and give us strength and make us better people. Success comes due to our stretching to the challenges of life.

Think about it like this…”If we’re not having challenges, we’re not trying hard enough. We’re not pushing. We’re not growing. Your breakthrough could be right beyond the current obstacle. Remember, there’s no such thing as a man who was born great.
